Sales Manager

Your number is no longer yours, it belongs to five people. The job becomes teaching, clearing obstacles and telling the truth on time.

What you actually do

  • Coach on real calls
Listening to recordings and giving one concrete correction per week beats any two day training course.
  • Protect selling time
Your team loses hours on things that are not selling. Part of your job is removing those, not adding more check in meetings.
  • Forecast honestly
An inflated forecast buys you two weeks of peace and costs you credibility for the rest of the year. With cycles as long as hotels, inflating shows up fast.
  • Hire slowly
One bad hire in a team of five is twenty per cent of the team. In this industry it also takes months to learn the trade.

The jump to sales leadership

You stop managing people and start designing the system: which segments we attack, through which channels, at what price and with what structure. And you start sitting where the budget gets decided.

What to learn before you take it

  • Read a P&L and understand which part depends on you
  • Design territories and quotas that do not kill motivation by month three
  • Defend resources in front of a leadership team

You do not learn this by reading

Everything above is notes. The jump happens by talking to people who already made it, and that is what the community is for. It is free and we meet in person.
